CONFINED SPACE TECHNICIAN (NFPA 1006)

24 HOURS

This course offers Fire / Rescue / EMS personnel with an increased understanding of risks in permit required confined spaces.  This course will also offer options to complete entry rescues of incapacitated workers including use of Rope Rescue systems and respiratory protection equipment.  Victim management and patient care awareness will also be covered as well as methods to mitigate events that have turned into a full technical rescue incident.  Students in this course will be required to mitigate increased entanglement hazards, risks of Hazardous Materials mitigation, and large space concerns.  This course will be taught in accordance with OSHA 1910.146, 1910.147, and NFPA 1006 – 2021 edition, Chapter 7, Section 3 (Technician).
