2024 Training Schedule & Information

May 20th – 24th: SPRAT (Levels 1, 2 and 3)
8:00am – 5:00pm
Equipment needed: Gloves, suitable footwear
Helmets provided, personal helmets are permitted following inspection
No prerequisite for Level 1
Levels 2 and 3 prerequisite: 500 hours plus 6 months at current experience level
Lodging: Hampton Inn, Butler PA
Maximum 8 students

June 29th – 30th: Rope Rescue Operations
8:00am – 5:00pm
Equipment needed: Gloves, suitable footwear
Helmets provided, personal helmets are permitted following inspection
Prerequisite: Rope Rescue Awareness, Basic Rigging, Rescue Technician Basic, or other equivalent. Ability to tie the following knots and hitches:
– Alpine Butterfly
– Figure 8 on a bight
– Clove Hitch
– Water Knot
– Scaffold Knot
– Double Overhand Stopper
Maximum 20 students

July 20th – 21st: Rope Rescue for Limited Staffing
8:00am – 5:00pm
Equipment needed: Gloves, suitable footwear
Helmets provided, personal helmets are permitted following inspection
Prerequisite: Rope Rescue Awareness, Basic Rigging, Rescue Technician Basic, or other equivalent. Basic understanding of personal ascending and descending equipment. Ability to tie the following knots and hitches:
– Alpine Butterfly
– Figure 8 on a bight
– Clove Hitch
– Water Knot
– Scaffold Knot
– Double Overhand Stopper
– Munter Hitch
Maximum 20 students
