The National Fire Protection Association publishes more than 300 consensus codes and standards intended to minimize the possibility and effects of fire and other risks. NFPA codes and standards, administered by more than 260 Technical Committees comprising approximately 10,000 volunteers, are adopted and used throughout the world. Many fire agencies require their equipment to meet NFPA standards for use and safety, and these pieces of equipment are UL Classified to NFPA 2500 standards for Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents and Life Safety Rope and Equipment for Emergency Services, Edition 2022.
